Esperit Elements wins first prize summer campaign KP Holland

On Thursday 12 July, the summer campaign of KP Holland ended with the presentation of the main prize and “ice cream prices”.

From week 25 up to and including 27, KP Holland organized a summer campaign for its customers. By ordering they could win summer day prizes. By making creative photos with these daily prizes, weekly prizes could be won: an ice cream and a food truck at the company. The winners were Profitplant and Zyon Group. A winner was unanimously chosen from all entries; the most original participant has become Esperit Elements. They made a very creative film with the frisbees they had won, which can be viewed on the Facebook page of Esperit Elements or Facebook page of KP Holland. They win a boat trip with dinner. A few customers who won no main or weekly prize were surprised with an “ice cream price”.

KP Holland FlowerTrials Event: thank you for your visit

KP Holland once again participated in the FlowerTrials from Tuesday 12 up to and including Friday 15 June. We organized the FlowerTrials Lunch Event for you: exciting lunch sessions with inspiring speakers about sustainability, digital entrepreneurship, international cooperation and innovation. Grower in the sunlight: Westland Plant

The fact that KP Holland is continuously working as a breeder to develop the best varieties for you is no longer news. But what happens to those new varieties? To give you more insight into this, we regularly give the floor to a grower in this newsletter. Today that is Westland Plant; this company was founded in 1996. Before that owner Peet Zwinkels worked with his father Henk from 1985 in growing vegetables. Westland Plant currently has 15 permanent employees. The main crop is Spathiphyllum Cupido™ 14 cm and 17 cm pot. The company entails 6 hectares, Westland Plant is one of the larger Spathiphyllum growers and is strong in Added Value, innovative in assortment, grows year-round top quality, has the right equipment and is continuously improving.

Since 2017, Westland Plant has been growing her Spathiphyllum biologically. With this number 1 in air-purifying plants, it is logical that they are members of Air so Pure.

Westland Plant is a customer at KP Holland of 3 Spathiphyllum varieties namely Bingo Cupido™, Cupido™ Compacto and Silver Cupido™ and is continuously testing new varieties to improve the assortment for the customer.

Important for Peet Zwinkels is: “Further development to improve the quality of the end product, for example by allowing more light to achieve better shoot formation in an early phase and responding more and more to the wishes of the customer with Added Value in all forms.” On the photo you see the beautiful result of this proud breeder. Trading places: Waterdrinker

For years, Waterdrinker has been a valued customer of KP Holland. Waterdrinker is one of the largest flower and plant wholesalers in Europe and has opened the new ‘Green Trade Center’ this spring. With Henk-Jan van den Eijkel, buyer of flowering plants at Waterdrinker, we discuss the developments in this and the vision of this company on cooperation with growers in order to optimally serve the customer.

The Green Trade Center (GTC) is now officially opened half a year ago. How do Waterdrinker customers experience the transition from the previous C & C to this new green buying center?
The weather did not really contribute to a flashy start in the first 2 months, but in April and May we got off well. We are now working on a number of improvements that we will make on the basis of customer requirements and experiences. Such as routing and presentation.

What role do breeders / suppliers play in the GTC?
Those who have committed themselves to the shop in shop formula keep their own stock and are responsible for a good and wide range. The other growers are managed by the Waterdrinker stock manager.

Selected partners can use a shop-in-shop formula. What are the advantages?
You can keep your own stock, you have 24/7 insight into the stock turnover, big data is shared. As a grower, you yourself have an influence on the pricing. There is close cooperation with the marketing department of Waterdrinker with the aim to better market your products and improve your brand awareness.

What value does KP Holland have for Waterdrinker and its GTC customers?
For the customers a continuous quality and reliability of delivering the range.

What advice would you like to give to KP Holland and other growers / suppliers?
Make sure you constantly innovate, inspire our customers, listen to the market so you can respond to that.

What themes are current for Waterdrinker and its supply chain partners and how can growers / suppliers contribute to this?
CSR and digitization are conditions for continuing to do business with each other. In addition, Waterdrinker wants to enter the future with partners and thus maintain close personal contact.
